Ural Federal University: University Launches First Course for Chinese Online Platform

The Online Course of the Russian Language: Starter was developed by the teachers of the Preparatory Department for Foreign Students of Ural Federal University. It is the first experience of the university’s cooperation with the XuetangX Chinese platform.

“The importance and benefits of online education are obvious, and we note the success of our students over the past year, as well as the growing interest in learning Russian for admission to Russian universities. Now our students from China will have an opportunity to master the initial level of Russian on their own,” says Yana Vysotskaya, Director of the Division of International Educational Programs at UrFU.

The 324 hours of material prepared by the Preparatory Department for Foreign Students, already recorded in the studio of the Office of Division for Continuing Education and Career Guidance, will be available in English and Chinese for students learning Russian from scratch. The six-week course was translated by employees of the Confucius Institute of UrFU.

UrFU and Tsinghua University’s platform, which will host the course, are linked by a cooperation agreement signed last year.
