Ural Federal University: University Plans to Join Kazakhstan Scholarship Program
The Ural Federal University intends to become one of the Russian participants of Kazakhstan’s international Bolashak scholarship program – the initiative was discussed by Erlan Iskakov, Consul General of the Republic in Kazan, during a meeting with Victor Koksharov, Rector of the Ural Federal University, at the university.
“Kazakhstan is one of our key partners, with the second largest number of international students and one of the leading positions in our research collaborations. Participation in the Kazakhstani Scholarship Program will, I am sure, expand opportunities for our students from the republic,” Koksharov said.
The Head of the university held a presentation of the university for the guest, after which they were able to discuss the main prospects for the development of cooperation between UrFU and organizations in Kazakhstan, including research, educational and cultural ones.
The inclusion of Russia’s leading technical universities in the list of institutions for the Bolashak program became known at the end of January, at the same time Kazakhstan’s President Kassym‑Jomart Tokayev announced the reorientation of the project. In total, the list includes more than 200 universities in 27 countries.
