Ural Federal University: University Publications Among the Best Books of the Year

Two books by the UrFU Publishing House were among the winners of the “Best Books of the Year – 2021” contest held by the Russian Publishers Association. The awarding ceremony was held in the exhibition hall of GUM in Moscow as part of the VIII Book Festival “Red Square”.

The winner in the category “Best Textbook” was the publication “Fundamentals of Publishing. Textbook” (by Irina Plotnikova and Olga Klimova). In the category “Best Classical Fiction Publication” the book “Jean de La Fontaine. Selected Fables with illustrations by Jean-Baptiste Oudry.

“This is a very significant event for our publishing house, because this is one of the most prestigious book contests in Russia. The victories confirm the high professional level of the publishing house staff and the projects they implement. As part of the festival, we held a presentation of the book series “Ural Humanitarian Initiative”, which leads its history since 2017 and already has seven books. The series exists with the support of the Ural Federal University Endowment Fund,” says Aleksey Podchinenov, Director of the UrFU Publishing House.
