Ural Federal University: University Rises in the New Rating of RAEX Agency

Ural Federal University improved its position in the new rating of RAEX agency – according to the results of 2021, the university has risen by one line, taking 11th place in Russia.

RAEX university rankings have been published annually since 2012. Their purpose is to assess the ability of universities to provide their graduates with high quality knowledge, skills and abilities based on the conditions for their acquisition and the results of their application.

RAEX used statistical indicators as well as the results of surveys of more than 85 thousand participants: representatives of academic and scientific circles, students and graduates, employers. In 2022, 206 universities out of 704 operating in Russia applied for places in the rating.

“The growth in the rating is a reflection of our work to improve the university’s competitiveness in all key areas. First of all, it is about improving the quality of the educational process, attracting talent, developing applied and fundamental research, and promoting promising innovations. This work contributes to the comprehensive development of the territory. The success of the Ural enterprises, their ability to effectively cope with difficulties and challenges that arise depends directly on what kind of personnel we train and how much our scientists’ research is in demand,” says Victor Koksharov, Rector of UrFU.

The Head of the university notes that one of the main challenges of today is to solve the problem of import substitution.

“Here we have high expectations from the work of the world-class Ural Interregional Research and Education Center “Advanced Industrial Technologies and Materials”, which was created on our initiative. The center is developing dynamically and already gives good results in the form of real technological projects,” emphasizes Koksharov.
