Ural Federal University: University Student and Graduate Reached the Finals of Student TEFI
A student and a graduate of Ural Federal University became finalists of the 7th All-Russian TV contest “Student TEFI”. Kirill Lukin, a third-year student of the Department of Media Communications at Ural Institute of Humanities, presented his short film “Phase” in the category “Documentary Film”. His film is the final work of the Drama Fundamentals course. Kirill made the grandfather of his friend, Afghan war veteran Alexander Fedorovich Fomin (call sign “Phase”), the main character.
“The idea came spontaneously, when my friend and I were talking about people of the older generation. They were born in a completely different country, at a different time, and events of such magnitude fell on their adulthood that we cannot understand. Each such person is a portal to the past, and unfortunately, when they pass away, the passage closes. This is why such stories should be greedily absorbed while there is an opportunity,” Kirill said.
The film “Phase” won the Short Film Festival Special Prize in 2021.
In turn, in the category “Information story” finalist was a graduate of the Faculty of Journalism Diana Covando with the work ” What in Russia made the noble maidens happy? Let’s test sledging”. It was broadcasted on Channel 4. Earlier Diana became a winner of “Student TEFI”.
The total number of works for the contest was 274. The biggest number of works was in the categories “News Story” – 71 and “Documentary” – 41. Creative applications were sent by participants from 32 cities of Russia.
The final events of the competition will take place at Ural Federal University in April 2022.
