Ural Federal University: University Student Became the Best at the World Junior Wrestling Championship

Anastasia Sidelnikova, a student of the Ural Federal University Institute of Physical Education, Sports and Youth Policy, won gold at the World Junior Wrestling Championships, which is taking place in Ufa. She became the best in the category up to 59 kilograms, beating in the final bout the Belarusian athlete Arina Martynova.

“It took us a long time to get to this victory. This was my fourth world championship and I was always left off the podium. Only the fourth time I managed to win. I am very happy that I could make my family and friends happy. To be honest, I still can’t believe I won,” Anastasia said.

Earlier she won the gold medal at the fifth Summer Spartakiad of Youth of Russia and a bronze at the European Championship in wrestling among youth. The coach of the athlete is Igor Zadnepryannyj.
