Ural federal university: UrFU Called Upon Federal Authorities to Allow Vaccination For International Students

Ural Federal University has initiated an appeal to the federal headquarters with a request to help organize vaccination against coronavirus for foreign students and teachers. This was announced to by the rector of the university, Victor Koksharov.

“At a meeting of the Russian Union of Rectors, I asked the head of the union, Viktor Sadovnichy, to address the head of the federal operational headquarters to resolve the issue of vaccination of foreign students and teachers. This letter has been written, transmitted, we are waiting for a decision. We are very interested in starting the vaccination of foreign students. There is such a problem, we very much hope that it will be solved at the federal level,” Rector Koksharov said, noting that the university has no opportunity to vaccinate foreign students, since they are not citizens of the Russian Federation.

In total, more than 4 thousand foreign students from 100 countries of the world are currently studying at the university. More than two thousand of them now live in university dormitories.
