Ural Federal University: UrFU Improved Its Position in Three University Missions Ranking
Ural Federal University rose 29 lines in the Three University Missions Ranking compared to last year. UrFU ranks 257th in the world and 8th among 112 Russian universities, showing three-year growth dynamics.
As a year ago, Harvard and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) topped the ranking. Cambridge, Oxford and University College London came next.
“The important thing is that the ranking reflects the status of the Russian higher education system on the global educational arena. Like other leading universities, we managed to improve our positions in terms of publication activity and, which fully corresponds to the realities of the time, online courses. We intend to continue our progressive movement in these areas, increasing the reputation of education in Russia,” says Victor Koksharov, Rector of UrFU.
The authors report that the number of universities represented in the ranking increased this year to 1,650 from 1,500 a year earlier. The list of the best universities includes universities from 97 countries. Russia retained its position in the top three world leaders for representation, after the United States and China.
Researchers also note the growing popularity of domestic universities in the world: Russian universities have exceeded the global average in terms of “percentage of international students” for the first time.
