Ural federal university: UrFU Ranked 9th in All-Russian Ranking in Natural Science, Engineering – RAEX Agency

Ural Federal University took the ninth place among Russian universities in the new list of the RAEX rating agency, prepared with the support of the Andrey Melnichenko Foundation and the Russian Union of Rectors. The study identifies the best universities in Russia in the natural-mathematical and engineering-technical fields.

“In these areas, our university is advancing thanks to a strong research base and close ties with enterprises in the real sector of the economy. The participation of the university in the projects of the Ural interregional scientific and educational center of the world level also contributes to the promotion in the ratings ”, – said the UrFU Rector Victor Koksharov.

Three factors influenced the position of universities in the rankings – the demand for graduates in the labor market, the quality of education and scientific results. In the natural and mathematical field, universities with programs in mathematics, physics, chemistry, biology, fundamental earth sciences are taken into account. In the engineering and technical sphere, the list is formed among universities that develop energy, construction, aircraft construction, robotics, light industry, etc.

According to the director general of the RAEX rating agency Dmitry Grishankov, the published lists will be of interest to employers who need to renew their staff. In addition, the ratings should become an important help for applicants with advanced mathematical abilities and engineering inclinations.
