Ural Federal University: UrFU’s R&D Center Presents Digital Twin Technology at WAIC 2021 International Conference in China
The World Conference on Artificial Intelligence WAIC 2021 was held in Shanghai under the main theme Artificial Intelligence Enhancing the Digital Transformation of the City. Staff of the R&D Center for Digital Technologies in Machine Building presented their experience in creating digital twins of products.
More than 300 million users around the world learned about the achievements of UrFU developers, this is a record number of conference views.
“Digitalization of all stages of the product life cycle gives confidence in its correct operation. Thanks to the constant monitoring of ongoing processes in real time, a clear understanding of how various factors, including use scenarios and the environment, affect the product or the object under study, arises,” said Alexander Shakirov, head of the digital twins department at R&D Center for Digital Technologies in Machine Building.
The main tool that unites all processes for creating a digital twin at the design stage is the digital design bureau developed by the center. The use of end-to-end technology of digital design, production and operation allows to reduce the cycle time of products, reduce costs by minimizing the number of errors in the early design stages.
Reducing the number of errors and minimizing risks is the main task of introducing digitalization into production. Modern achievements of developers in the field of innovative technologies and digitalization have long become a part of not only our daily life, but also an industrial necessity.
