“Republic of Kyrgyzstan is an important track in terms of our international development. We have developed extensive ties with 12 academic institutions in Kyrgyzstan including Institute of Physics of National Academy of Sciences of Kyrgyzstan in just a few years. Joint scientific and scientific-technical projects, organization of internships, summer schools, conferences, information exchange are a tip of an iceberg here. We set the goal of becoming a valuable competences center for Kyrgyzstan’s youth and researchers,” said Rector Koksharov.

Consul General thanked Rector for hospitable welcome and reassured his firm commitment to assist UrFU in its strategic goals towards developing ties with Kyrgyzstan academy and businesses.

“Ural Federal University is one of our most valuable partners in the Urals. It is very satisfying to see how the process of internationalization in your university is going. The project of the 2nd Forum of Rectors of Universities of Kyrgyzstan and Russia is very compelling for our diplomatic mission. By bringing together heads of academic institutions of Russia and Kyrgyzstan and making this project a reality, we can vastly contribute to the development of academic ties between our two countries. UrFU is a great platform for international dialogue. Also, please, be sure that we will support in every way your 63 students-citizens of Kyrgyzstan,” stated CG Ruslan Biybosunov.

According to the Vice-Rector of UrFU for international relations Sergey Kurochkin, the university sees opportunities for expanding cooperation and searching for new Kyrgyz partners in the educational and scientific fields. In particular, UrFU offers citizens of Kyrgyzstan postgraduate studies as an opportunity to continue their education in Russia after graduating from a university in Kyrgyzstan and start a research career.

CG Biybosunov has already visited UrFU twice in previous year, meeting the students from Kyrgyzstan in February, and taking part in the 100th Anniversary of UrFU events in October.
