Ural Federal University: World Volleyball Championship Volunteer Program Started

Recruitment of volunteers for the FIVB World Volleyball Championship 2022 started on February 21. The presentation of the volunteer program took place yesterday at Ural Federal University.

The Championship will be held from August 26 to September 11 in 10 cities of Russia. In Ekaterinburg the Volunteer Center of UrFU “Volunteers of the Ural” will support volunteer recruitment. To become a volunteer it is necessary to know English, be willing to undergo training, be able to work in a team and have the opportunity to participate during the championship.

“Volunteers are the soul of any major sporting event. At the Volleyball World Championship the volunteer team will be the 25th team of the tournament. The main mission of volunteers is to create a friendly and welcoming atmosphere during competitions. Volunteer movement in Russia has vast experience in organizing mass sporting events. Volunteers of the Volleyball World Cup will be ready to help all the guests, fans and participants of the tournament,” said Roman Stanislavov, General Director of the Volleyball 2022 Organizing Committee.

All championship volunteers will get an unforgettable experience in the organization of a major event in a friendly international team of like-minded people, a set of outfit, souvenirs, they will have a free ticket for public transport in the organizing city, and they will be insured from the first day of the shift. Meals during shifts at sports facilities are also provided.

The successful organization of the championship events will require the involvement of more than 3,500 volunteers of the organizing committee in 18 functional areas. The key stage of volunteers’ preparation for the competition is general training, which will begin in June-July. Functional and on-site training will begin in August.
