Ural Federal University’s International Students Take Part in Yugra Ski Marathon

International students of the Ural Federal University – representatives of the BRICS countries – participated in the XI Ugra Ski Marathon, which took place on April 6-7 in Khanty-Mansiysk.

For a month, they actively practiced and learned how to cross-country ski. As a result, the students skied a distance of five kilometers and received participant’s medals. The students also met and spoke personally with Russian Olympic champion Yevgeny Dementyev. He told them about his athletic journey and inspired them to strive for success.

“The event was very positive for the students: after a hard marathon, the students took a hot bath, rode on a dog sled, and tasted a field kitchen”, the university reported.

The event was attended by Gaurav Saini (India), Samuel Bogale Worku (Ethiopia), Renan Do Amarante Goncalves (Brazil), Luyanda Simamane (South Africa), Xinyi Zhang (China), Erfan Taghvaei (Iran).
