The representative office of the Alumni Association of UPI, UrSU and UrFU in Kazakhstan has big plans for the future – support of internships for Kazakh students in enterprises of the republic, organization of meetings of famous graduates from Kazakhstan with current students, replenishment of the endowment fund of the Ural Federal University.

An extended meeting was held with the participation of Nurtai Abykayev, Chairman of the Organization, and Victor Koksharov, Rector of the Ural Federal University. Leila Kozhakova, Executive Director, and Maksudbek Rakhanov, Chairman of the Board of the Trust Fund “Kazakhstan”, told how the branch will celebrate its anniversary year.

“The basis of the Association’s representations outside Russia is the organization and support of joint research and educational projects with the university. Recent graduates are also involved in the representations. The example of cooperation with the National Academy of Sciences of Kazakhstan shows how much our technologies are in demand in the republic. This is a vivid example of our integration ties,” says Aleksandr Ponomarev, Executive Director of the Alumni Association of UPI, UrSU and UrFU.

“Of course, Kazakhstan is a strategic and reliable partner for us. The Alumni Association is the main bridge of cooperation. The daily work of the Association helps the students from Kazakhstan to feel socially protected in Russia and in demand in their homeland,” emphasizes Sergey Tushin, Vice Rector for International Relations of the Ural Federal University.

The visit of the university delegation led by the rector took place in Astana and Almaty within the framework of the celebration of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Russia and Kazakhstan.
