Ural Federal University’s Research Center Showcases Growth In All Essential Areas

The world-class Ural Interregional Research and Education Center (UIREC) for Advanced Production Technologies and Materials has made significant progress in achieving its key performance indicators in 2022. The results were summarized by the members of the UIREC Supervisory Board.

In particular, there was an increase in the development and transfer for implementation in production of competitive technologies (57 units). The number of patents for inventions (236) and articles by scientists in journals included in Scopus and Web of Science (4017) also increased. In addition, the share of new and improved high-tech products (30.8%) and the share of researchers under the age of 39 (55.55%) increased. The number of people trained at the UIREC competence development center increased (768 people) and the number of new high-tech workplaces increased (1,128 units).

“The Supervisory Board of the Center summarized the results of its work in 2022, and we showed very good dynamics in all key indicators. This means that the model of work we have chosen is correct. It shows its effectiveness. Our work allows us to implement advanced technologies in real production in the shortest possible time and solve the problem of import substitution, which is so urgent today,” said Igor Manzhurov, UIREC Development Director.

The structure of the Ural Research Center currently includes nine universities, 10 scientific organizations, and 54 industrial partners. The Center’s portfolio consists of 51 technological projects.
