Urban bodies should play an important role in preventing Corona infection

Bhopal :Urban bodies will play an important role in preventing the spread of Corona infection in the cities. A nodal officer should be appointed at the state level to do the work of monitoring and planning and this should be reported daily. Urban Development and Housing Minister Shri Bhupendra Singh gave these instructions during the review of departmental schemes.

Urban Development and Housing Minister Shri Singh said that the areas from where Corona patients are found in the city should be sanitized on priority basis. Latest techniques of sanitization must be used. He said that the works being undertaken by the Urban Development Department of other states should also be studied. Basic facilities must be provided in selected Covid centres.

Useful work should be done in smart city for citizens

Urban Development and Housing Minister Shri Singh said that works that will be useful for citizens should be undertaken in smart city. He said that complaints have been received from some places about unnecessary work being undertaken. Shri Singh said that the works going on in the Smart City will be reviewed separately.

Deendayal Antyodaya Rasoi Yojana in every city

Shri Singh said that Deendayal Antyodaya Rasoi Yojana is very useful during Corona period. A plan to implement it in every city must be made.

Street vendors must received benefits within stipulated time

Urban Development and Housing Minister Shri Singh said that the benefit of the Pradhan Mantri Street Vendors Atmanirbhar (PM Swanidhi) Yojana should be provided to all eligible beneficiaries within the stipulated time. An officer should be assigned in every urban body to coordinate with banks, so that loans can be obtained on time. Body-wise grading of the implementation of the scheme should be ensured.

Shri Singh said that a plan should be made to solve the problems faced in the implementation of the Prime Minister’s Housing Scheme. He instructed to make a comparative report on the utility of intercity buses being run under the urban public transport system. Shri Singh said that the works of Metro trains should be speeded up.

The Urban Development and Housing Minister said that together we should work in such a manner that citizens are assured of basic facilities. He said that we have to live up to the expectations of the people. Principal Secretary Urban Development and Housing Shri Nitesh Vyas informed about the schemes. The Commissioner Urban Administration and Development Shri Nikunj Shrivastava, Commissioner Town and Country Planning Shri Ajeet Kumar, Additional Commissioner Shri Swatantra Singh and other officers were present at the meeting.
