UrFU Enhances Collaboration with Azerbaijan for Educational and Research Initiatives
Last week, a delegation of Ural Federal University represented by Evgeniya Saburova, Head of the International Marketing Office, Alexandra Khalyasmaa, and Stanislav Eroshenko, the Associate Professors of the Department of Electric Engineering and Electrotechnology Systems and the heads of the Master’s programs Artificial Intelligence for Power Industry Applications and Energy for Smart Cities, and Mikhail Kozhevnikov, the Head of the Department of Systems for Energy Industry and Industrial Enterprise Management and the head of the Master’s program in Energy Business held fruitful meetings with representatives of some leading universities of Azerbaijan in Baku to strengthen international cooperation.
The meeting with the Rector and Vice-Rectors of Baku Engineering University resulted in preliminary plans to establish cooperation with the Engineering Faculty and the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences in terms of the development of joint programs in electric power engineering, business, and management in the energy sector, as well as joint research and publications by scientists of both universities.
The delegation also visited the Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University. During the meeting with the Dean, Deputy Dean, and professors of the Faculty of Power Engineering and the Faculty of Economics and Management prospects and mutually beneficial projects of cooperation with the Faculty of Power Engineering and the Faculty of Economics and Management were discussed. Both sides are interested in the development of joint programs in electric power engineering, business, and management in the energy sector and joint research and publications. Students of the Faculty of Power Engineering also took part in the meeting and got general information about the University and its Master’s and PhD programs.
The UrFU delegation also visited the Azerbaijan State University of Economics UNEC, a current partner of the University. Prof. Kozhevnikov gave a master class on “Energy as a Business Sphere for the students of the Russian School of Economics and told them about the benefits of the UrFU Master’s program in Energy Business. Negotiations were also held with the Deputy Director of the Russian School of Economics Dr. Leyla Hajiyeva Arif to discuss further cooperation, namely the implementation of joint network programs and online programs of continuing education in business and management in the energy sector, as well as joint scientific research in topical issues of the development of national power industry.
