UrFU Graduate Secures Two Gold Medals at Arm Wrestling Competition

Pavel Lunev, a graduate of the UrFU Institute of Physics and Technology, achieved great success at the Sibirsky Medved (Siberian Bear) international competition. He managed to take two gold medals: one in the right arm and another in double-arm tournaments.

The Sibirsky Medved arm wrestling tournament, which for the first time received international status, was held in Omsk. The competition gathered more than 300 participants from 11 countries and 24 regions of Russia.

Athletes from Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan, Burkina Faso, Egypt, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Vietnam, Azerbaijan, Pakistan, India, and Belarus competed for medals.

Judges determined the winners and medalists among men in seven weight categories: 60, 70, 80, 90, 100, 110, and over 110 kg. Women and juniors competed for awards in four categories: 60, 70, 80, and over 80 kg.
