US based Organization conducted Workshop on ‘Social Entrepreneurship’ at LPU Campus

Jalandhar: The US based prestigious organization ‘Deshpande Foundation’ conducted a seminar-cum-workshop on social entrepreneurship for thousands of LPU students, today, at Shanti Devi Mittal Auditorium of Lovely Professional University. LPU Schools of Start Ups and Bioengineering & Biosciences had hosted the workshop. For this, Country Head and Director ‘LEAD’ of the Foundation, Ajay Suman Shukla was the key motivator who inspired and interacted with students and their mentors. Ajay has been instrumental in establishing vibrant social innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem, in many districts of the Uttar Pradesh state of India, to boost socio-economic growth and livelihoods.

Addressing the students, Ajay inspired students to execute local leadership projects, gain leadership skills and to build innovative approach. Using short sentences on positivism “I am stopping self, I am the reason, I want to change, I will get what I want” and more, he motivated students to think differently and build an entrepreneurial mind set up within. He said: “Life does not go in one direction, it directs in different directions, now and then. It depends upon a person how he chooses the ways to be followed and how to proceed ahead in life.” He also asked students to follow their passion for social empowerment with a clear mindset and positive attitude by thinking out of the box.

LPU Chancellor Mr Ashok Mittal shared: “One of the focuses of LPU is entrepreneurship for its students and to see many ‘disrupter’ entrepreneurs emerging from the LPU Campus. Following this vision and mission and ensuring that no idea stays an idea only, many of the LPU students have come forward with their startups and running these successfully by providing jobs to many others instead of being mere job-seekers. On these lines, we facilitate entrepreneurial pursuits of LPU students for wealth generation, employment creation, social impact and global competition through the creation of an ecosystem.”

Headquartered in the USA, Deshpande Foundation has embarked on large scale projects in the United States and India including ‘MIT Deshpande Center for Technological Innovation in Massachusetts; the Indus Entrepreneurs (TiE), in both the US and across India; the Indo US Collaboration for Engineering Education (IUCEE); and many more.
