USG Guided Cadaveric Workshop on Nerve Blocks & Vascular Access held at JNMCH

Aligarh: The Department of Anaesthesiology and Critical Care at J.N Medical College, Aligarh Muslim University, recently hosted a UP Medical Council (UPMC) Accredited CME cum workshop on “USG Guided Cadaveric Workshop on Nerve Blocks and Vascular Access” on January 28.

Experts from All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi, led by Dr. Arshad Ayub, conducted the workshop, which focused on ultrasound-guided nerve blocks. The emphasis on this technique stems from its growing popularity in anaesthesia and intensive care, providing a safer and more effective approach to managing high-risk patients. By avoiding general anaesthesia, these regional anaesthesia methods significantly reduce associated risks and costs in surgeries.

There were approximately 100 participants, including doctors from various specialties and institutes nationwide, attended the full-day workshop. The hands-on training sessions took place at five different stations, enhancing the participants’ skills and knowledge.

The inaugural function, presided over by the officiating Vice Chancellor, Prof Nasir Zameer Qureshi, was attended by Prof Mohammad Habib Raza, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Workshop Coordinator Dr. Arshad Ayub, Organizing Chairman Prof Qazi Ehsan Ali, and Organizing Secretaries Dr. Farah Nasreen and Dr. Manazir Athar.
