UTMN Alumni Wins Tour De Ski World Cup
The UTMN alumni of the Institute of Physical Education was able to scale the Alpe Cermis in 32 minutes and 41 seconds. Denis was ahead of his compatriot Alexander Bolshunov who came in second (+13.3), and Frenchman Maurice Manificat (+15.2), who took third place.
Another graduate of the UTMN Institute of Physical Education, Evgeny Belov, came fourth in this race.
Yevgeny Kolunin, Director of the Institute of Physical Education, notes that Denis was always a dedicated student, striving for the highest results:
“During his studies, Denis was fond of biomedical research. He used diagnostic equipment at our university and interpreted the data to understand the reactions of his body to physical activity. Later on in his career, he applied this knowledge to create a training regimen best fit to further his success and improve his sportsmanship.
In general, Denis is a positive, hardworking person who is open to communication and learning. We are looking forward to working with him again. We wish our graduates – both Denis and Evgeny – to reach new heights at local and international competitions, including the Olympic Games.”
