UTMN: Diploma recognition in Russia made simple

In March 2021, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin signed a decree “On the Procedure for Including Foreign Educational and Scientific Organizations in the List of Foreign Educational and Scientific Organizations that the Education and (or) Qualifications, Academic Degrees and Academic Titles Obtained in Which is Recognized in the Russian Federation.”

The new bill regulates the procedure for selecting foreign educational and scientific organizations whose diplomas do not need to be confirmed in Russia. A simplified student mobility protocol will increase interest in Russian higher education, facilitate the exchange of experience, promote technical, scientific, and cultural events, and help organize conferences and short-term courses.

The list of international rankings based on which universities are selected will also expand. In addition to the Academic Ranking of World Universities, QS World University Rankings, and The Times Higher Education World University Rankings, the list will also include universities featured in the U.S. News Best Global Universities Ranking and the Moscow International University Ranking “Three University Missions”.

UTMN has 134 foreign partner universities in 47 countries, most of which are the world’s leading universities and are part of the top-200 of Times, QS, and ARWU rankings.
