UTMN: Russia increase quota for foreign students
The number of places allocated to foreign citizens funded with federal budget resources will be increased by 5 thousand places in 2022 and will amount to 23 thousand places, and in 2023 30 thousand places.
In 2021, the annual quota for international students did not exceed even 18 thousand places.
During the admission campaign of the 2021/22 academic year, the largest number of applications were from countries such as China, Vietnam, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and Afghanistan. The number of places for studying funded with federal budget resources for citizens of the Republic of Belarus, Kazakhstan, Syria and Mongolia has also been increased.
The number of CIS citizens entered Russian universities under the quota of the Government of the Russian Federation for bachelor’s, specialist’s and master’s degree programs in the 2020/21 academic year increased by 9.7% compared to the previous academic year, and in the 2021/22 academic year by 16% more.
