UTMN: The Biennale at UTMN immerses in the world of contemporary art
UTMN continues to hold events within the framework of the special project of the 6th Ural Industrial Biennale of Contemporary Art “To create a New layer” curated by Alisa Sycheva.
You can see the exhibition of art objects in the Library and Museum Complex of UTMN, until December, 3. Opening hours are from 11:00 to 20:00. Admission is free with a passport or a UTMN pass.
The exhibition consists of 10 projects about today’s multi-layered reality: video works, sound and spatial installations that emphasize the connection of digital reality with urban space. Artists: Alina Glazun (Moscow), Artem Go (Moscow), Misha Gudvin (Moscow), Georgiy Elaev (Tyumen), Alexey Korsy (Moscow), Alexandra Melnkova (Tyumen), Konstantin Roslyakov (Tyumen), Anna Rotaenko (Moscow), Igor Samolyot (Moscow), Masha Foot (Tyumen). Competent mediators will tell you about the idea of each of the creators.
As part of the Biennale’s public program, two events will be held:
– On October 15, a screening will be held in the public space of School of Advanced Studies in conjunction with the bookstore “No one sleeps”. It will be a viewing and discussion of the film “The Square” by Ruben Estlund. Igor Chubarov, Director of the Institute of Social and Humanitarian Sciences of UTMN will moderate the discussion;
– On October 17, the laboratory of sound “Can never have too much ears” with the artist Konstantin Roslyakov will be held at the Institute of Social Sciences and Humanities. The workshop consists of a lecture on field recordings and the creation of a soundscape of the UTMN Library together with the audience, using a smartphone voice recorder and being attentive to what is happening around.
