UTMN: UTMN entered the global subject rating THE in the field of physical sciences

According to 2022 Times Higher Education World University Rankings by Subject the University of Tyumen entered the top 1000 best universities in the world in the field of Physical Sciences, where it is in the interval group 801-1000. In total, 1227 universities were enrolled in the list. Russia was represented by 48 universities, among them UTMN occupied a position of 23-31.

According to the rating methodology, the field of Physical Sciences includes, in addition to physics and astronomy, mathematics and statistics, chemistry, geology, earth sciences, environmental sciences and oceanology.

“Entry into the subject rating demonstrates the achieved level of scientific research of the University of Tyumen in relevant fields of knowledge, related, in particular, to the study of the environment and climate, aerosols and heat and mass transfer processes, properties of new chemical compounds, characteristics of metallic and non-metallic mineral resources in Western Siberia”, Ivan Romanchuk, the president of the University believes.

“The creation of the first pilot carbon polygon in Russia by the University, UTMN enrollment in global research networks in the field of studying the Arctic areas and climate change will provide further opportunities for our researchers, graduates and students to be at the forefront of science”, First Vice – rector Andrey Tolstikov is sure.

Earlier, UTMN also entered THE World University Rankings 2022, the overall global ranking of the best universities in the world.
