Utrecht University: Jelle Reumer chair of the Life Sciences and Society Foundation
Reumer studied biology in Utrecht and did research in various fields of biology, including cytogenetics, taxonomy and vertebrate paleontology. He was previously the director of the Rotterdam Natural History Museum for 28 years.
The Stichting Biowetenschappen en Maatschappij external linkaims to contribute to the social debate on current themes in the biological and health sciences. It contributes to the formation of an informed opinion on these themes by providing a clear and comprehensive overview of the current state of affairs, the developments and future perspectives within health, nature and the environment, and their consequences for society. BWM was founded in 1969 by HRH princess Beatrix and HRH prince Claus.
