Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath and Union Minister Anurag Thakur inaugurates Youth 20 Summit

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Union Minister for Youth Affairs and Sports Anurag Singh Thakur today jointly inaugurated the Youth 20 Summit -2023 at Rudraksha International Cooperation and Convention Centre at Varanasi. Today is the second day of the four day Y20 Summit which is being held at Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh.

The Youth 20 (Y20) Summit has been organised by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports under the framework of India’s G20 Presidency. The Y20 Summit is the culmination of various meetings including Inception Meeting at Guwahati, Pre Summit at Leh, Ladakh, and various Jan Bhagidari events conducted across the country in the run-up to this main Summit. Around 125 delegates from G20 countries, Guest countries and International Organizations are participating in the four day Summit.

Addressing the gathering on the occasion, Union Minister for Youth Affairs and Sports Anurag Singh Thakur said that the Y20 Summit brings together young people from diverse nations each facing unique economic, social and environmental problems and challenges and they are not limited to a single country. He said , it provides a platform to work together to find solutions to tackle the challenges. He said, by 2030, the youth will dominate the global demography with considerable portions hailing from South Asis and with them lies the collective responsibility to influence global narratives and collective efforts in addressing the Sustainable Development Goals.like no poverty and zero hunger.

Mr Thakur also highlighted India’s achievements in the last nine years of Narendra Modi government saying that the country has become the 5th largest economy of the world which was earlier on 10 th position. He added that India has the largest young population and the youth power is the power of the country which will make the country the third largest economy of the world.

Addressing the gathering, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that in the last nine years, Narendra Modi government has launched several youth oriented schemes like Stand Up India and Start Up India for promoting innovation and research in the country. Mr Yogi Adityanath said that it is painful when anyone questions the talent and skills of youth as they have always given solutions and directions to the societ any period.

Akashvani correspondent reports that yesterday on the first day of the meeting the delegates were taken to the Indian Institute of Technology, Banaras Hindu University , BHU where they visited the Supercomputing Center and Precision Engineering Hub. Faculty members of the IIT BHU showcased how the Super Computing Centre has advanced the country’s research and development area of science and technology. Later the evening, the International delegates were taken on excursion to Sarnath, a place where Lord Buddha delivered his first sermon.
