Uttishtha’19: A Start-Up Mela at IIM Kashipur on 20th October 2019

Kashipur: India is the third-largest ‘startup’ ecosystem in the world and it eyes on the envious goal of becoming the world’s largest startup hub, in terms of the number of startups. For that, the government of India is leaving no stone unturned to bring all the forces of ‘entrepreneurship’ together. In this context, Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Kashipur, one of the premier management institutes in the country started by the government of India in 2011, is organizing the biggest ‘startup event’ in the state of Uttarakhand called as “Uttishtha” on the campus of IIM Kashipur on 20th of October, 2019.

Uttishtha 2019 is going to be the flagship event of the Entrepreneurship Cell of IIM Kashipur, a great opportunity for those who want to turn their aspiration of becoming an entrepreneur into reality. In association with Ministry of Agriculture, the Department of Science and Technology, State Bank of India, PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Startup Uttarakhand, and other prominent players of the industry, IIM Kashipur and Foundation for Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development (FIED), the incubation centre hosted at IIM Kashipur to help startups in their endeavours, are organizing this event where more than 100 startup owners are congregating to show their innovative products to the general public of more than 10,000 people who are expected to attend this showpiece event. This event will host a bevy of startup investors, entrepreneurs who have more than 10 years of startup experience, government officials, and all other forces of the startup ecosystem, a very rare opportunity to have all these under one roof.

IIM Kashipur, most humbly, invites all to Uttishtha 2019. Apart from the Startup exhibition, Uttishtha includes more than 10 events such as talk shows of successful entrepreneurs, panel discussions, cultural activities, and a chance to meet real life entrepreneurs to discuss career choices, i.e. career counseling. To an average Indian parent, when there are very limited career options for his kid this event will help to get a glimpse into the world of entrepreneurship and what it has to offer. Now that India is looking forward to the next cohort of entrepreneurs of the stature of Ritesh Agarwal (the founder of Oyo Rooms), Pankaj Chaddah (the founder of Zomato), Bhavish Agarwal (the founder of Ola cabs), etc. it is a golden opportunity for anyone and everyone, especially the teenagers and college goers, to ‘start-up’ and take the baton forward. Come and be a part of this event on 20th of October and understand the ecosystem that a startup needs.
