Vedanta VGCB reinforces its Commitment towards Environment conservation on World Environment Day

Vizag: Vedanta – Vizag General Cargo Berth Pvt Ltd (VGCB) reiterated its commitment towards environment conservation on the occasion of ‘World Environment Day’, through various environment friendly initiatives such as plantation drives, Online Environment related competitions. To commemorate the occasion, plantation drive was organized at VGCB. The plantation drive at VGCB was initiated at the benign hands by Dr. P M Raju, Deputy CE & Head-Environment, Visakhapatnam Port Trust in presence of Mr. Tapas Chakrabarti, Chief Operating Officer, Vedanta – VGCB; Mr. Srikanth Gudivada, Chief Financial Officer, Vedanta – VGCB company’s business partners and employees.

Besides this Vedanta- VGCB organized numerous activities to raise the awareness about Environment conservation such as quiz Competitions, photography competition, and painting competition on the topic of Environment preservations & Biodiversity conservation for VGCB employees and Business partners.

Under the unprecedented circumstances of the ubiquitous pandemic, Vedanta-VGCB is committed to ensuring safety of all its employees and stakeholders. The company has been taking all necessary precautions to ensure safety of employees and has strictly followed social distancing guidelines while celebrating the occasion of ‘World Environment Day’.

On the occasion Vedanta-VGCB employees took the pledge to improve biodiversity, mitigate climate change, enhance environmental care, optimize resource and energy efficiency, utilize solid waste, and significantly reduce plastic waste for improving the quality of lives.

Environment conservation is the major thrust area of Vedanta VGCB’s CSR interventions. Over the past several years Vedanta VGCB have contributed to up gradation of the surrounding environment through periodic programs including Environment awareness campaigns, plantation drives etc.
