VESCOA Welcomes Renowned Architect Harshad Bhatia as New Design Chair
Mumbai: The VESCOA (Vivekanand Education Society’s College of Architecture) is delighted to announce the appointment of Ar. Harshad Bhatia as the new Design Chair and Professor. A noted urban designer, architect, academic and author, Mr. Bhatia brings a wealth of experience and expertise to the institution. He was conferred the title of ‘Distinguished Professor of Ekistics’ during a successfully attended COA-TTP (Council of Architecture – Teacher’s Training Programme) at VESCOA.
With a professional career spanning over four decades, Mr. Bhatia has managed a diverse portfolio of projects through his firm and now operates as a solo practitioner. Prior to joining VESCOA, he was a professor at several other leading architecture institutions. Mr. Bhatia is a gold medallist graduate from Sir J.J. College of Architecture, Mumbai University, and a postgraduate gold medallist from the School of Planning and Architecture, New Delhi. His contributions to architectural history, project management, and design communication are well-recognized. He has authored the biography of India’s bestselling architect, titled ‘Becoming Hafeez Contractor – The Making of an Architect,’ which is perceptively insightful and well-read.
In his new role at VESCOA, Mr. Bhatia will leverage his extensive background to inspire faculty and guide students, fostering a new generation of architects and urban designers.
