VIBGYOR Group Of Schools Hosts 14th Annual Model United Nations Conference, Empowering Future Global Leaders

Bengaluru : The VIBGYOR Group of Schools, a leading network of K-12 schools, proudly hosted the 14th Edition of the VIBGYOR Model United Nations (VIBGYOR MUN) at the prestigious Hilton Bengaluru Embassy Manyata Business Park from June 26th to June 29th 2024. The conference served as a platform for students to engage in simulated international diplomacy, fostering their global awareness and leadership skills.

The central theme of the 14th Edition of VIBGYOR MUN was ‘SDG 11 – Sustainable Cities and Communities’ underscoring VIBGYOR Group of Schools’ commitment to sustainable development. The VIBGYOR MUN conference attracted enthusiastic participation from over 1000 students, representing over 36 schools from across India. Students immersed themselves in debating and addressing pressing global issues, embodying the spirit of diplomacy and cooperation that the United Nations stands for.

Ms Kavita Kerawalla, Vice Chairperson, VIBGYOR Group of Schools, expressed her pride in the success of the conference, stating, “We are thrilled by the enthusiasm and dedication our students show for global issues. During the conference, nine diverse committees convened, offering student delegates a platform to engage in stimulating debates and discussions on globally significant issues. These committees, including the World Health Organisation (SDG 11), Disarmament and International Security Committee (DISEC), International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), United Nations General Assembly Legal (UNGA- Legal), United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), International Press, All India Political Parties Meet (AIPPM), The Global South, and Administration and Security, tackled a wide array of topics. A standout moment was The MUN Colosseum, where Chairs and Executive Board members passionately debated on ‘Protection takes precedence over privacy – Surveillance and Digital rights in India,’ showcasing exemplary leadership and insight into pressing global challenges.

The closing ceremony was a highlight of the event, graced by the esteemed presence of Mr. Rustom Kerawalla, Founder Chairman and Ms. Kavita Kerawalla, Vice-Chairperson of the VIBGYOR Group. They inspired the young delegates with their insights on global governance, the importance of youth involvement in international affairs, and the role of education in shaping future leaders.
