Vice Chairperson DDC Udhampur participates in back to village activities at Block Khoon
UDHAMPUR : Vice Chairperson District Development Council Udhampur, Juhi Manhas Pathania today addressed a series of gram sabhas across the Panchayats of Block Khoon, including Panchayat S.K Bair, Kail and Palnoo. She also took an overview of ‘Back to Village’ Phase-IV programme in the Block and called for a holistic planning in line with the sentiments and aspirations of gram sabhas.
“Gram sabha is the supreme body whose authenticity and veracity cannot be challenged or impeached anywhere” she said. She called for restoring utmost caution and sincerity by PRIs and line departments. “The completion of 3 tier and introduction of the new Panchayati Raj system is the brainchild of Pradhan Mantri ji who has been kind enough to bestow this model in Jammu and Kashmir” she said and added that as an institution, an arrangement and as a precedent, this has enriched J&K in many ways. She further called for immediate start of works under Jal Jeevan Mission without any hindrance from any quarter. She was also apprehensive of maintaining cleanliness in public places, schools, hospitals etc.
She further emphasised on the Department of health to initiate awareness and sensitization programmes on various diseases especially dengue-spread. She called for time bound and qualitative works which have been tendered in different Panchayats. She asked the villagers to ensure their participation in the gram sabhas under the Back to Village programme. She asked them to fearlessly air their issues in Gram Sabhas organised under B2V4.
Visiting officers, Ashwani Khajuria , Administrator Associated hospitals; Praveen Bhat, AE and Darshan Kumar, Agriculture Extension Officer Majalta accompanied by various officials of line departments presented their view point before the people.
Mohan Lal Sarpanch, Panchayat S.K Bair; Chain Singh, Sarpanch Panchayat Palnoo; Rattan Chand Sharma, Sarpanch Kail and other PRI members of Panchayats were also present and shared their valuable views.
