Vice Chancellor approves NEP Cell, constitutes NEP Advisory Committee

 

Aligarh : Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) Vice Chancellor, Prof Tariq Mansoor has constituted the NEP Advisory Committee in the university in line with University Grants Commission (UGC) mandate for the NEP 2020 implementation.

Prof Mansoor is also the Chairman of the NEP Advisory Committee which includes Mr Abdul Hamid-IPS (Registrar), Mr Mujib Ullah Zuberi (Controller of Examinations), Prof SK Singh (Superannuated faculty member, Department of Physics), Prof Wasim Ahmad (Convener, Academic Programme Committee), Prof Nisar Ahmad Khan (Dean, Faculty of Social Sciences), Prof Naima Khatoon (Principal, Women’s College), Prof Asfar Ali Khan (Director, Directorate of School Education), Prof Mohd Nafees Ahmad Ansari (Director, Centre for Distance and Online Education), Prof Mirza Asmer Beg (Department of Political Science), Prof Mohammad Parvez (Department of Education), Prof Nishat Fatima (Chairperson, Department of Library and Information Science), Prof Aasim Zafar (Convener, Swayam Programmme) and Dr Suhel Mustajeb (Coordinator of NEP Cell and convenor of NEP Advisory Committee).

“For the implementation of the NEP 2020, the NEP Cell will work on Regulations on Academic Bank of Credits to promote flexibility and facilitate student mobility, guidelines on multiple entry and exit in the academic programmes of Higher Education Institutions, guidelines for apprenticeship/internship embedded degree programme as part of the curriculum of general degree programme, amendment of institutions deemed to be University Regulations to facilitate vocational education and enhance Employability, regulations on ODL and online education to expand access and increase GER, regulations on Credit Framework for online courses through SWAYAM, 2021 for recognition and integration of credits — increasing the credit limit from 20% to 40%, guidelines for internationalization of higher education, establishment of office for international affairs —one stop contact for foreign students and alumni connect at university level to engage with alumni of foreign origin and Indians living abroad”, said AMU Registrar, Mr Abdul Hamid-IPS.
