Vice Chancellor releases ‘ChemCast’

Aligarh : Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) Vice Chancellor, Prof Tariq Mansoor with the distinguished university alumnus, Dr Syed Masarrat Ali (Director, Albireo Pharma Inc. USA) released the first issue of the magazine, ‘ChemCast’ brought out by the AMU Students’ International Chapter of American Chemical Society in a special function held at the Vice Chancellor’s Lodge.

The Vice Chancellor praised the efforts of the student team for the publication and motivated them to carry more such activities in future.

“The activities carried out by the AMU Students’ International Chapter of American Chemical Society have been impressive”, said Prof Mansoor while releasing the magazine.

Dr Mohammad Zain Khan (Faculty Advisor, AMU Students’ International Chapter of American Chemical Society) spoke on the achievements of student members who secured admission in prestigious universities abroad and about the laurels that the Students’ Chapter received in past three years such as the ACS Travel Grant and ‘Hon’ble Mention’ in best chapter awards.

He also spoke about the works of ACS Student Chapter office bearers, Arish Naim (President), Md Rashid (Vice President), M Abubakar (Secretary) and event managers, Fatima Ahmad, Ainee Hasan and Muaz Mugheez.

Prof Anees Ahmad (Coordinator, Industrial Chemistry), Dr Shahab AA Nami, and Mr Asif Saud who also attended the releasing ceremony said that the AMU Students’ International Chapter of American Chemical Society has been working very hard for the holistic development of students since its establishment three years ago.
