Vice President inaugurates new campus of Makhanlal Chaturvedi University Fourth Convocation ceremony at Makhanpuram
In his address, the Vice President congratulated all the students who received the degrees. He asked the students to be proud of their Indian heritage and always keep the national interest paramount while doing journalism. The Vice President was very happy to see students dressed alike and praised the traditional attire representing different states of the country in an educational institute. He said he was overwhelmed to see a glimpse of North, South, East and West in their attire and will always remember it. Describing the press as a sentinel, he said that it has a huge responsibility on its shoulders and he also urged the media to introspect as journalists play the biggest role in uprooting corruption. Expressing happiness over the unprecedented progress in the field of agriculture and infrastructure in Madhya Pradesh, he also mentioned the nation’s achievements like G 20, Chandrayaan-3 in his address and said that India is being praised all over the world for these achievements. He called upon the press to avoid negativity and sensationalizing news and highlight the positive aspects of the society and nation.
While presenting the report of the University, Vice Chancellor of the University Prof. (Dr.) K.G. Suresh said that following the ideals of Dada Makhanlal Chaturvedi ji, the university is moving on the path of progress. He said that the university is continuously helping the youth in finding solutions to the challenges of the society by imparting knowledge and skills of innovation and journalism and making their lives successful .He expressed the hope that the students of the university, following the ideals and values of Dada and his newspaper “Karmaveer”, will be fearless and follow the path of truth and serve and build the nation with honesty, hard work, innovation, positivity and creativity for the progress of the society. The convocation ceremony ended with the national anthem. On this occasion, heads of various departments of the university, teachers, officers and distinguished citizens were present.
