Commemorate the 50th anniversary of the 1971 India-Pakistan war by launching the video series under the banner of Spirit of Victory

New Delhi : Radico Khaitan, under the umbrella of Spirit of Victory, has launched an animated video series titled ‘1971 War Chronicles’ to honour and celebrate the lesser-known gallant stories of our brave Indian warriors during the sequence of battles fought during the 1971 India-Pakistan War.

On the eve of December 3, 1971, Pakistan began a series of air raids on India, officially kicking off the third Indo-Pak War. Pakistan army chief Lt Gen Niazi surrendered to Lt Gen Aurora with 93,000 regular and paramilitary forces on December 16, at 16:30 hrs. The war concluded with India’s full triumph. This conflict resulted in the establishment of a new country, Bangladesh.

The series is divided into five episodes: The Battle of Basantar (Jammu), the Battle of Longewala (Bhuj), the Battle of Hilli (East Pakistan), Operation Trident (Naval Operation), and The Tangail Airdrop (Yamuna Bridge – Dacca). The animated series tells a story of these five battles that defined the war as well as India’s victory. Moreover, it sheds light on the lesser-known details surrounding these conflicts and how these brave soldiers went above and beyond their call of duty to bring glory to our country.

Commenting on the occasion, Mr. Amar Sinha, COO, Radico Khaitan said, “We created a premium rum 1965 Spirit of Victory as first product under the umbrella of “Spirit of Victory” product range four years ago as a means of expressing our appreciation to the soldiers, martyrs, and their families, and it was wholeheartedly received by the armed forces. We are now extending our efforts to the next war in the string of victory wars with Pakistan. We decided to commemorate and honour their sacrifices during the 1971 Indo-Pak War by producing an animated video series on the digital platform, so that it not only reaches a significant proportion of individuals but also make the youth aware of our warriors’ noble acts of patriotism. This series represents a small effort to pay tribute to their bravery and devotion to the country.”

He also added, “Moreover, Radico Khaitan previously created a similar animated video series on the 1965 War Chronicles to pay tribute to raise awareness about little-known facts of the war and the sacrifices made by our soldiers.”

The teaser launched on Youtube has garnered over 2, 50, 000 views and the episodes are being telecast on all the digital platforms of the brand.
