VIT-AP University School of Law (VSL), VIT-AP University and Birmingham School of Law, University of Birmingham, Jointly Organize International Conference on Comparative Law: Exploring Convergences, Divergences, and Liminal Spaces at VIT-AP Campus. Amaravati ; – The 3-day International Conference on Comparative Law, titled “A Story of Convergences, Divergences, and Exploitation of Liminal Spaces,” commenced at 5:00 pm on 15th February, at the VIT-AP campus and will continue until 17th February 2024. The event is co-sponsored by Ramaiah College of Law, Bengaluru.
The conference encompasses diverse topics, with discussions on themes such as the “Use of Technology and AI in the Resolution of International Commercial Disputes: Opportunities and Challenges,” and “Comparative Public Law and Practices in India.”
During the inaugural session, Justice Ravindra Bhat, Hon’ble Judge Supreme Court of India (Retd), attended as the chief guest for the conference emphasized the significance of Comparative Law and its importance in the legal system. He described Comparative Law as the study of differences and similarities among the legal systems of different countries, highlighting its crucial role in the current era of internationalism, economic globalization and democratization.
Dr. S. V. Kota Reddy, Vice-Chancellor, VIT-AP University in his presidential address underscored the academic excellence of VIT-AP University and encouraged students to excel in the field of law.
Dr. Jagadish Chandra Mudiganti Registrar VIT-AP highlighted the array of non-engineering courses introduced by VIT-AP, in addition to its renowned engineering programs. He also emphasized the superior infrastructure and facilities provided to students on the campus.
Dr. Benarji Chakka, Dean, Professor of Law, VIT-AP School of Law (VSL), VIT-AP University said the conference aims to foster intellectual discourse, promote academic exchange, and contribute to the advancement of comparative law knowledge in research and teaching. Participants will delve into various branches of comparative law, including constitutional law, administrative law, civil law, commercial law, and criminal law
Prof. Umamahesh Satyanarayana, Principal, Ramaiah College of Law Bangalore. Professor Gandhi from VIT Chennai, Dr. Aleksandra Cavoski, Professor and Director of Global Engagements, Birmingham University, Birmingham, UK were also present on the occasion and addressed the students and participants.
The conference was witnessed participants from reputed law school in India and abroad and more than 120 research papers were received and 80 research papers were presented in the three day deliberations. Students, Research Scholars and faculty and staff members were participated in the three day conference.
