Shillong : ECoBiZ Club of IIM Shillong in collaboration with the Pasteur Institute conducted a very well co-ordinated “Voluntary Blood Donation cum Awareness Programme” at IIM Shillong on 11th February, 2017. The event received an enthusiastic response from the donors which included students and faculty members of IIM Shillong.
The students showed great enthusiasm and turned up in good numbers in support of the cause. A total of 58 people turned out, of which 36 were found fit to be donor. ECoBiZ Club of IIM Shillong expressed gratitude for the support that they received from the Pasteur Institute. By organizing the event in a successful manner, the club showed another example of the way students can utilize the principles of management for promoting a noble cause. The process of collection of blood was carried out smoothly, owing to the immaculate arrangements made by the ECoBiZ Club with the support of their faculty coordinator, Professor Natalie West Kharkongor.
Professor Kharkongor has expressed interest in continuing with such activities in future and working towards blending management expertise with social welfare and environment protection. She also congratulated the IIM Shillong fraternity for the fantastic response and expressed the view that the Institute could work in several other areas to provide social service and community development. It is very popularly said that “All that donating blood costs is just a little love”. Certainly, IIM Shillong campus was full of love this Saturday.
