Wageningen University & Research welcomes interim chair group holder Food Quality and Design
The Executive Board has appointed prof. dr. ir. Kasper Hettinga as interim chair holder Food Quality and Design at Wageningen University and Research (WUR). Hettinga will assume this interim position from 1 June 2023 until 1 June 2025.

Hettinga (Groningen, 1980) works as professor”Dairy processing & Functionality”in the chair group “Food Quality & Design”. He received his PhD at Wageningen University, for a thesis describing a new method for mastitis pathogen identification. Since finishing his PhD, he started his own research group on milk protein functionalities.
His main research topic is studying the impact of processing on protein functionality, with a focus on protein digestion and immune response and their role in the health of newborns.
