Washington University in St. Louis hosts next cohort of College Prep Program
Washington University in St. Louis has admitted 50 rising high school sophomores to the tenth cohort of College Prep Program, an innovative program that invites high-achieving, local students who will be the first in their families to attend college or with limited resources to learn on campus for three summers.
The students represent public, private and charter schools from across the region. As College Prep scholars, they will study in Washington University laboratories and studios, attend classes led by university faculty and learn the skills needed to thrive in college. Rising sophomores and juniors will attend two weeks of activities on campus; rising seniors will attend classes for three weeks while living in campus residential halls.
Throughout the academic year, students will reconnect to attend university cultural events and meet with university experts to navigate the college application process.
College Prep graduates have gone on to attend top schools across the nation. This year’s graduating cohort of scholars earned more than $4.6 million in scholarship money and received acceptances to approximately 70 colleges and universities.
