Water conservation awareness programme held in Rajouri village

 

RAJOURI: To highlight the importance of freshwater and the steps to be taken for its conservation, an awareness programme was organised here at Ujjan village.

Among the others present were Chief Accounts Officer, Shabana Azmin; Women Welfare Officer, Dr. Anum Mirza; Administrator OSC, Nitu Sharma; KAS Probationer, Kiran Deep Kour and people from all sections of the society attended the awareness programme.

Speaking on the occasion, the officers highlighted that the women can play an important role in water conservation as they are the main sufferers in the times of water crises and exhorted upon them to come forward to extend their necessary contribution in this regard.

They also said that the District Administration is working on a plan envisaging conservation, preservation and restoration of water bodies.

The officers urged the women of the district to ensure their maximum registration with the newly created water conservation club and to play a constructive role in water conservation and preservation by ensuring judicious use of this valuable gift of nature.

They said that the women can also educate their children and family members about the judicious use of water and the importance of water conservation.
