WCD Minister Smriti Irani flags off bike expedition “Yashaswini”, in New Delhi
Women and Child Development Minister Smriti Irani flagged off the bike expedition “Yashaswini”, on Saturday in New Delhi. A total of 150 women CRPF officers will converge at the Statue of Unity in Ekta Nagar (Kevadia), Gujarat for the grand finale scheduled to take place on the 31st of October. The rally is aimed at spreading the message of Nari Sakti, Beti Bachao Beti Padao, Unity, Integrity, and women empowerment.
Speaking at the event, Mrs Irani expressed her gratitude to the Yashaswini team for their service to the nation and a beacon for women’s empowerment. She added that young girls will look up to the officers as a source of inspiration. The Minister said that the changes in the National Education Policy will serve to bridge the gap of gender inequality. She also said that policies such as the Gender Inclusion Fund will promote active participation between the centre and the states for the growth and empowerment of women.
