Web talk on Evolving Trends in Endodontic Surgery

Aligarh: Prof Pravin Kumar, Head, Department of Dentistry, All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Jodhpur elucidated the transformation of endodontic surgery into endodontic microsurgery; the state-of-the-art equipments, instruments and materials used in the procedure and microsurgical approaches producing predictable outcomes in the healing process among other topics.

He was delivering a web talk on ‘Evolving Trends and Perspectives in Endodontic Surgery’ organised by the Department of Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics, Dr Z A Dental College (ZADC), Aligarh Muslim University (AMU).

Prof Pravin delineated modern procedures to remove the causative agents of radicular and periradicular diseases and to restore tissues to functional health.

“We must continuously run well controlled experiments, clinical as well as biological, on many new techniques and materials to meet the present and future challenges,” he asserted.

Prof Pravin further spoke on the necessity of assertively teaching the future generation of graduate students, and also providing the dental surgeons with hands-on training in latest techniques.

Prof R K Tewari (Principal, ZADC) extended the vote of thanks, while Prof S K Mishra (Chairman, Department of Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics) delivered the welcome address.
