Web talk on ‘How to Build a Career in Data Science’

Aligarh : Ashwini Jain, CEO and Co-founder of ForeignAdmits encouraged students to skill up in domains of coding, analytics, statistics, data visualization and machine learning in the web talk on ‘How to Build a Career in Data Science’ of the Department of Business Administration, Aligarh Muslim University.

He urged the participants to hone relevant soft and industrial skills, learn from experts, choose a beginner level course or specialization, build a professional portfolio, gain practical exposure through internships and keep themselves updated with the latest industry trends.

Ashwini explained how students with knowledge in different domains can learn the basics of data science and what is expected from a data scientist.

Prof Salma Ahmad (Dean, Faculty of Management Studies and Research) delineated data science as an interdisciplinary field about scientific methods, processes and systems to extract knowledge or insights from data in various forms.

In the welcome address, Prof Jamal A Farooquie (Chairman, Department of Business Administration) spoke on the relevance of data science in today’s business environment.

Prof Saboohi Nasim and Dr Lamay Bin Sabir talked about key components of the Data Science field.

They also convened the programme with Arma Bano and Mohd Yasir.

Fatima Mohtashim conducted the web talk.
