Web talk on Scholarly Communication
Aligarh: Dr Sumeer Gul, Department of Library and Information Science, University of Kashmir discussed the trends that influence academic research and how academics create, share and value knowledge.
In his web talk on ‘Scholarly Communication and Academic Databases’ organised by the Department of Library and Information Science, Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) on ‘New Landscape of Library and Information Science’ to observe the centenary year, Dr Sumeer provided a glimpse of researchers reposition in a changing world.
Speaking on the workflow of publication related to scholarly communication in renowned quality publishers, he pointed out the necessary aspects to be kept in mind.
“Researchers should focus on the submission of original manuscripts and it is a prerequisite to understand all the ongoing developments including the digital communication technologies for scholarly research, which have made this range of processes increasingly visible,” said Dr Sumeer.
In the welcome address, Dr M Masoom Raza, Chairperson, Department of Library and Information Science expressed that quality research should be the top priority to fetch better citation index.
Web talk Coordinator, Dr Muzamil Mushtaq discussed various aspects of systematic and professional research and how to publish work in highly renowned publications.
He also conducted the programme and moderated the question and answer session.
