Web talks as part of centenary celebrations

Aligarh : The Faculty of Life Sciences, Aligarh Muslim University is organizing a series of web talk on “Advances in Biological Research”, from November 5-10, 2020, as part of the centenary celebrations of the University.

According to Professor Waseem Ahmad, Dean, Faculty of Sciences, under the series, eminent molecular microbiologist, Professor Carmen Torres (University of La Rioja, Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, Madrid, Spain) will deliver the first lecture on “Methicillin-Resistant Staphylococcus aureus from the One Health Perspective” on November 5 at 5 pm. Professor Tariq Mansoor (Vice-Chancellor) will preside over the talk.

Other web talks planned under the series include a lecture by Dr Manoor P Hande (Department of Physiology, National University of Singapore) on “Telomeres and Telomerase in Ageing and Cancer” on November 6 at 11 am, Professor Adam Price (School of Biological Science, University of Aberdeen, UK) on “Thirty Years of Genetic Mapping in Rice” on November 6 at 3 pm, Professor HAS Yahya (Former Dean, Faculty of Life Sciences, AMU and presently in USA) on “An Overview of Avian Studies and Conservation Priorities in India” on November 7 at 5.30 pm, Mr Khalid Abd Elrady (Senior Conservator at Mummies and Human Remains Lab, Grand Egyptian Museum, Giza, Egypt) on “Mummies Management in Museum: Requirements and Challenges” on November 9 at 11 am and by Dr Imran Ahmad (CEO and President, Jina Pharmaceuticals, Chicago, USA) on “How to advance medicine: Drug development and Lipid-based delivery system” on November 10 at 10 am.
