Webinar on “Digitalization in Manufacturing Processes” Held at Community College

 

Aligarh : The Production Technology Section of the Community College, Aligarh Muslim University (AMU), organised a webinar on “Digitalisation in Manufacturing Processes.” The event gathered over 300 participants from academic and industrial sectors across the country.

In his keynote address, Prof. Arshad Umar, Nodal Officer of the Community College underscored the significance of equipping students and professionals with essential digital skills to meet the ever-changing needs of the manufacturing industry. He emphasised how digital tools are reshaping traditional manufacturing methods and driving efficiency.

The session’s resource person Dr. BS Pabla, a distinguished academician and retired Professor of Mechanical Engineering from the National Institute of Technical Teachers Training and Research (NITTTR), Chandigarh, brought expertise to the discussion. Dr. Pabla’s presentation was a deep dive into the role of digitalization in modern manufacturing. He shared insights on additive manufacturing processes, the integration of Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT), Cyber-Physical Systems, and the concept of Digital Twins. His discussion highlighted how these technologies enable real-time monitoring, predictive maintenance and simulation of production systems, fostering efficiency and precision.

Dr. Mohd. Yunus Khan, the Convener of the webinar and Course Coordinator for Production Technology inaugurated the session, inviting participants to delve into the dynamic world of manufacturing. Dr. Mohd. Asif Hasan, Section-in-Charge of the Mechanical Engineering Section at University Polytechnic emphasised the vital role of digitalization in revolutionising the manufacturing industry.

In an interactive Q&A session participants engaged with Dr. Pabla on current challenges and opportunities in the digital manufacturing domain.

Dr. Roohul Huda Khan conducted the programme, while Dr. Umair Arif introduced the resource person. The session was moderated by Dr. Mirza Shariq Beg and the vote of thanks was extended by Mr. Mohammad Umair Zaki.
