Webinar on Innovation Policy of Indian Railways Start-Ups held
Aligarh : A webinar on “Innovation Policy of Indian Railways regarding Start-Ups” was co-ordinated by Entrepreneurship Development Cell of ZHCET with IEEE students’ branch of AMU and Delhi Local Network of IET (UK). The objective of the webinar was to engage with entrepreneurs, technology developers and innovators through Start-Ups to get low-cost user-friendly reliable products and solutions for -0000use on Indian Railways Network.
The Chief Guest Mr RS Grover ( former additional member (Electrical) Railway Board, Vice Chairman DLN IET, UK), spoke about the various initiatives like Start Up India, Atal Innovation Mission, Make in India-AtamaNirbhar Bharat Abhiyan taken by the Government of India.
Government enabling framework for encouraging Indian innovators and entrepreneurs to come forward for development of innovative technologies, products, solutions and services to address the needs of the various sectors of the country must be promoted, he added.
Mr Vipin Kumar, Senior Divisional Commercial Manager and Mr A Ranjan Panday, Commercial Inspector / IT from North Central Division, Indian Railways presented the Innovation Policy of Indian Railways, that caters to the development of cost-effective, implementable and scalable solutions.
In his welcome address Prof MM Sufyan Beg, Principal ZHCET deliberated upon the quintessential role of continuous Innovation for both growth and sustainability of Start-Ups. He also appreciated the approach of Indian Railways, wherein the opportunities provided to young budding technocrats to present their solutions for the need driven requirements.
Prof Mohd Rihan, Member Executive Committee of IET DLN and Faculty Coordinator IEEE Students Branch, in his introductory remark stressed on the fact that Indian Railways operates at a staggering scale in every fathomable dimension and there is a scope for Start-Ups in aligned dimensions like signaling, asset management etc
