Webinar on online teaching

 

ALIGARH February 16: The Centre for Distance and Online Education, Aligarh Muslim University organized a webinar on “Online Tools and Application for Effective Teaching and Research” in order to provide orientation opportunity to its faculty members in the backdrop of new developments in teaching procedures, post Covid-19 pandemic.

Prof (Dr) Ahrar Husain, Former Director, CDOL, Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi engaged the undergraduate and postgraduate students, research scholars and faculty members from various departments of studies.

Prof Husain pointed out that with the rapid growth in the number of online courses offered by universities and massive open online programmes (MOOCs), there is a considerable growth in the interest in online instruction, especially in the post-Covid-19 world.

While elaborating the guiding principles of the result oriented online teaching, he urged the educators to focus on encouraging student-faculty contact, collaborative learning, feedback, assignments and technology applications.

Prof Mohd Nafees Ahmad Ansari (Director, Centre for Distance and Online Education) welcomed the guest speaker and highlighted the importance of new tools and applications used in teaching and research.
