Budgam : The District Development Commissioner (DDC) Budgam, today inaugurated a week-long State Level Exhibition under NSSH (SC-ST Hub) organized by KVIB Budgam at New Bus Stand here.
Speaking on the occasion, the DDC emphasized the need that the programmes and other welfare schemes run by KVIB shall be focused primarily on to boost socio-economic conditions of the needy persons. He said KVIB has a unique responsibility in providing monetary success to the unemployed educated youth by involving them to adopt and take advantage of the employment generating opportunities.
In seeking alternate employment by establishing their own micro units, the DDC asked the concerned that while making products and other material they should maintain quality and standard.
He said the department shall initiate a process in addressing the issues of SHGs and other concerned and added that the aim and objective of this exhibition shall be to encourage SC-ST youth to adopt their own income generating ventures.
Earlier Dy. Chief Executive Officer KVIB while welcoming the participants presented a detailed activity report of the board and its future to do activities.
He said the board has many schemes/programmes under craft activities including making crewel and sozni work, shawl and embroidery copper utensils, paper machine and tilla work, besides we are also providing support and help in establishing micro income generating units in Dry fruits, Kashmiri Honey and Ayurvedic products.
The CEO KVIB said that the department wants to contribute towards economic upliftment of the weaker section particularly SC and ST.
Meanwhile, various departments had installed their stalls in the exhibition depicting and demonstrating talent, products and their programme.
Among others, Dr Ali Mohd Mir, Dr Ashraf General Manager DIC, Deputy CEO KVIB Muzaffer Allaqband, Director RSETI J&K Bank, Asstt. Director KVIB and other concerned were present on the occasion.
